Feeling Great and on the Comeback Food Snob Trail!

Six weeks ago at this time, I was just coming out of a long stint on the operating table-and spent that entire evening in a groggy, drug induced state. Surgery wasn't terribly serious, but definitely necessary: the kind of thing we women put off because we simply cannot find a "good" time to be put out of commission from our busy and productive lives.

Thankfully, six weeks later, I'm waking up feeling like my old self. As my daughter-in-law, Deanna, so comically put it (you gotta be a Seinfeld fan to get this) "It's the summer of Polly!"

I'm not saying I'm going to take a big bite out of a hunk of cheese like "George" does in that particular episode, but I am saying "I'M BACK!" and thrilled to be feeling so good, energetic, and healthier than ever.

So, plans are a'brewin and business is once again on my schedule. Steve and Vickie Rowlan, Bob and Sydney Bowden, and Suzy Harper have graciously put me on their calendars for the next week (and this in the middle of juggling my sons' out-of-town regional and potential state basketball tournaments).

I've also been busy creating a cooking class calendar that will be ready to fill with interested clients before you know it. Mark Mondays for this very fun, informative, and hands on experience and be looking for more information soon!

Lastly, I've recently received the third shipment of my cookbook: "Cooking With Polly The Food Snob." I'll be at Bowden's next Wednesday, February 23 from 1:00-5:00 serving up some goodies and ready to sign copies for those who didn't make it here the first time around.

On the menu for that afternoon: Smoked Ham/Cream Cheese Wrapped Asparagus, Garlic Shrimp Dip w/Fresh Vegetables and Crackers, my ever popular and addictive Fried Jalapenos, and Southwest Tortilla Chile Rolls. For those with a sweet tooth, you can enjoy a sampling of my Raspberry Filled Irish Butter Cookies, Spiced Oatmeal Cookies, and Mini Mint Chocolate Cupcakes. And for a refreshing beverage, there will be iced Almond Lemonade Tea.

If you've got the time, stop on by. Even if you can't or haven't budgeted for high end clothing, you will certainly enjoy seeing Bowden's new spring line which Bob and Sydney will be presenting on that special date.

I'd love the chance to visit with you, as well. If you've already gotten a copy of my cookbook, consider that they do make great gifts for birthdays, bridal showers, and even some early purchasing for Mother's Day. At $15 per copy, they're a bargain when looking for gifts with a personal and unique touch. And if you haven't, then I'm looking forward to meeting and signing your own copy.

Well, I'm off to the first game of the regional tournament for our Paris Warrior Homeschool Basketball team. Pray we play as hard and do as well as we are certainly capable of.

Have a marvelous day! I know I'm going to!
Happy Eating!
